INTERACTER, the portable Fortran user-interface subroutine library, is available for a number of different hardware platforms, operating systems and compilers. On each system a variety of screen, hardcopy and input devices are supported. This guide lists the currently supported systems and peripherals.

  • The Sun/SPARC Solaris 2.x version includes both Sunsoft f77 & f90 compatible libraries under a single licence.
  • The Linux g77 version includes libraries for Intel, Alpha and SPARC platforms.

  • HP-GL/2

    Vector oriented output for modern LaserJets and top-end DeskJets:

    • HP LaserJet III/4/5
    • HP DeskJet 1200C/1600C and Colour LaserJet

     

  • PostScript

     

    • Output suitable for monochrome & colour PostScript printers.
    • EPS option.

     

  • Raster (HP PCL and Epson/IBM)

     

    • HP PCL (LaserJet, DeskJet and PaintJet). Monochrome & colour, maximum resolution 600 dpi.
    • Epson/IBM 9-pin and 24-pin dot matrix printers (MX/RX/FX/JX/LX/LQ etc., IBM Graphics Printer/Proprinter and compatibles). Monochrome & colour, maximum resolution (24-pin) 360x180 dpi.

    • PCX & BMP (2/16/256/16M colours) on all systems via virtual raster driver
    • PCX & BMP screen image files under DOS, Windows and Xlib

    • Creates files suitable for importing into numerous WP/DTP packages

     

  • DXF format

     

    • Creates files suitable for importing into CAD packages.

     

  • CGM format
